The spirit world works by legalities because it’s a kingdom

  • There are many laws that govern there set by the king
    • When I say the leaves should be purple it’s my opinion
    • When the King says it, the leaves turn purple
      • The King’s words set the law

The law viewed through a loving Father wanting His children to know boundaries so they would be safe is different than the law viewed through a non-relational religious rules based view.

The law viewed through a people that didn’t like to be personally in contact with the Father turns into religion

  • This is what happen to Israel and the church

The law was given to let people know the legal boundaries and why they felt condemned when they violated the law.

  • Galatians 3:19a AMP What then was the purpose of the Law? It was added [later on, after the promise, to disclose and expose to men their guilt] because of transgressions and [to make men more conscious of the sinfulness] of sin

There are two different types of laws:

  1. Negative - Laws that set the boundaries of sin
    • Ex. The “thou shall nots”, law of sin & death,
  2. Positive - Laws that govern access to the kingdom
    • Ex. Law of God including: sowing & reaping, love, obedience, forgiveness etc.
      • Romans 7:25 NAS Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

The New Testament church thinks that the law has no application anymore because of grace

Matthew 5:17 AMP Do not think that I have come to do away with or undo the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to do away with or undo but to complete and fulfill them.

Matthew 5:18 NAS For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Matthew 23:23-24 AMP 23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you give a tenth of your mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected and omitted the weightier (more important) matters of the Law — right and justice and mercy and fidelity. These you ought [particularly] to have done, without neglecting the others. 24 You blind guides, filtering out a gnat and gulping down a camel!

Luke 16:16-17 AMP 16 Until John came, there were the Law and the Prophets; since then the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone strives violently to go in [would force his own way rather than God's way into it]. 17 Yet it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to fail and become void.

The law was never given to get us to heaven.

  • Romans 3:28 NAS For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.
  • Romans 3:31 NAS Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

The laws are given to open the kingdom and keep us out of the devil’s prison.

  • Romans 6:15-16 NAS 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! 16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?
    • We

When we break the law we have a lawyer, Jesus.

1 John 2:1 NLT My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not (AMP violate God’s law and) sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

Colossians 1:13 NAS For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption (Gr. Ransom in full), the forgiveness of sins.

Hebrews 9:12 NAS and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption (Gr. To ransom).

Reasons we break the law?

  1. Ignorance - We don’t know about the law
  2. Rebellion – We don’t like the law
  3. Self-Control –
  4. Above the Law – It doesn’t apply to them
  5. Imprudent – Ignorant of the consequences
  6. Psychotic – Anger or other factors cause someone to have a temporary lapse in judgement and not care.
  7. Familiarity – We equate the law with other rules
  8. Desperation – Fearful situations push people to do what they know is wrong
  9. Improbability - Low chance of being caught

The law had no power to help or mature people

It was to point out door opening ways of the spirit world

Even though we are not under the works of the law does throwing out the law reduce our need to obey

Did grace give us any room to not obey

Did grace change the repercussions for not obeying?

What did grace do then?

It allowed us to fail and be forgiven

Is there a place where grace no longer exists?

Yes, $$ when we go on willing sinning there remains no more sacrifice.

The law was not done away with, it is just not the way to salvation as in the Old Testament

So let’s look at a kingdom
