1 Peter 2:24 NAS and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Romans 6:8-11 NAS 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Even so consider (KJV=recon, NIV=count) yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

We are told as Christians that we will be attacked

  • How we’ve trained ourselves to be under the attack will determine what we can be trusted with.

  • Samaria was attacked because of the prophetic of Elisha

2 Kings 6:8-14 NAS 8 Now the king of Aram was warring against Israel; and he counseled with his servants saying, "In such and such a place shall be my camp." 9 The man of God sent word to the king of Israel saying, "Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Arameans are coming down there." 10 The king of Israel sent to the place about which the man of God had told him; thus he warned him, so that he guarded himself there, more than once or twice. 11 Now the heart of the king of Aram was enraged over this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, "Will you tell me which of us is for the king of Israel?" 12 One of his servants said, "No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom." 13 So he said, "Go and see where he is, that I may send and take him." And it was told him, saying, "Behold, he is in Dothan." 14 He sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city.

  • When the food and water are cut off it creates pressure.

2 Kings 6:24-30 NAS 24 Now it came about after this, that Ben-hadad king of Aram gathered all his army and went up and besieged Samaria. 25 There was a great famine in Samaria; and behold, they besieged it, until a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a fourth of a kab of dove's dung for five shekels of silver. 26 As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall a woman cried out to him, saying, "Help, my lord, O king!" 27 He said, "If the Lord does not help you, from where shall I help you? From the threshing floor, or from the wine press?" 28 And the king said to her, "What is the matter with you?" And she answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.' 29 "So we boiled my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day, 'Give your son, that we may eat him'; but she has hidden her son."

  • Couldn’t God have delivered Samaria earlier?
    • Why didn’t He?
    • God is more interested in HOW we handle the situation.
  • People ate their children
    • The church is often cannibalistic

What follows pressure is fleshly outflow, sin, hurt, offense and every sort of weakness

  • This must be dealt with as it opens
    • If you’ve allowed fleshly things it’ll take a strong stand to stop them

Many think the fleshly outbursts are to end with understanding or explanation.

  • Many parents fall into this trap and try to reason their child into maturity
    • End childish before understanding.

Deeds of flesh are categorized in

  • Elisha lived by an inward well that supplied him even when the rain was cut off.

2 Kings 6:15-17 NAS 15 Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" 16 So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the Lord opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

  • Elisha was not shaken by the attack

2 Kings 6:32a NAS Now Elisha was sitting in his house,

There are many things bought for us through the life, death & resurrection of Jesus

  • None of these are active in us until we, by an act of our will, receive them.
    • The power of resurrection is a huge one.

  1. If you’re not overcoming right now keep believing that you have the power to and continue to pursue until your answer is manifest.

John 16:33 AMP I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
