Psalms 9:10 AMP And they who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God's Word and the right of their necessity].

  1. FAITH: Someone can believe in the result of a scripture and get the miracle described as a result of the faith without knowing how or why it happened
  2. TRUST: But to trust in someone of something it takes a knowledge of them, their character and their intent towards us.

  1. Nothing happens to me without going through God’s hands first
  2. Everything has a purpose
  3. God’s purpose is eternal
    1. One of the first things we do is to look at someone’s life that doesn’t get better and say BASIC TRUST doesn’t work.
      1. And that wrecks our trust

  • How did Joseph go through all he went through?

Genesis 45:7-8a NAS 7 "God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance. 8 "Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God.

  • How did David go through all he went through?

2 Samuel 16:10 NKJV But the king said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord has said to him, 'Curse David.' Who then shall say, 'Why have you done so?'"

Alesha Haynes vision of the sword of love stopped by a bible.

We will distrust God when we only know Him by:

  • What we’ve heard in church
  • Religious rules & traditions
  • Unbiblical expectations

We, that came from a Pentecostal or charismatic background liked for the preach to wind us up.

  • The Spirit part of that was great but the knowing the word part was horrible.

We need to know God by His word!

John Bevere - Good or God?: Eve was not yet on the scene when the original command was given, so she hadn’t heard it from the mouth of God as Adam had. I personally believe there was a previous day when she and Adam had been walking through this vast garden and came upon the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam pointed it out and told Eve what God had said about this particular tree. I refer to this kind of interaction as communicated knowledge. On the other hand, for Adam the command had been revealed knowledge. What’s the difference? Revealed knowledge is when God shows us something directly.

In my experience this communicated knowledge is sometimes more dangerous than the absence of knowledge.

It should be a characteristic of those who seek God to dig more deeply into knowing and understanding Him.

Have you sold out to the bible being God’s direct spoken word to you?

People are trying to tear down the authenticity of the bible today.

  • While they are God is bringing evidence through science that is proving there is a Creator.

Matthew 24:9-13 AMP 9 Then they will hand you over to suffer affliction and tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and deceive and lead many into error. 12 And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity, 13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.

The fruit of trust is faith, joy & peace

Philippians 4:11-13 NAS 11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
