Hyper-grace vs Legalism

Huge hyper-grace movement happening today.

Some believe there's no hell or punishment.

Does grace allow us to be forgiven for any sin or any amount of sin?

Is there a place where grace does not apply? Where?

Does grace free me from obeying the Bible? Will grace allow me to be forgiven if I don't obey the Bible?

Nicholatians

Is the grace of God AND the fear of the Lord that will make the church into a pure spotless bride.

  • Grace is unmerited and unearned favor producing unconditional acceptance from God.

Simply put, we are accdepted and loved no matter what.

Grace gives me as many times as is necessary for me to obey God.

  • Grace never forgives me of disobedience.

On one side of God's forgiveness is freely given and simply requires us asking.

If we confess... Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV 8 for by grace you have beensaved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

On the other hand we cannot continue sinning and say grace is covering it.

Hebrews 10:26-29 NIV 26 If we deliBerately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has tgrampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

2 Peter 2:20-21 NKJV 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

Grace is given even more in evil times.

Romans 5:20-21 AMP 20 But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God's unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded, 21 So that, [just] as sin has reigned in death, [so] grace (His unearned and undeserved favor) might reign also through righteousness (right standing with God) which issues in eternal life through Jesus Christ (the Missiah, the Anointed One) our Lord.

Are we to accept anyone doing anything?

  • We're to evalutate someone's actions to decide if we agree with what they're doing
    • This evaluation must have strong biblical backing.
  • If we find someone going past what we feel is right we are still not to judge them.
