Transfer the Kingdom

For the sake of this, let’s refer to our gifting as the thing we are called to and the anointing the activation of that gift.

Let’s see this with Jesus

The meaning of Christ is drawn from the Old Testament. God promised the ancient Israelites that a Messiah would come to deliver them from sin. The idea of the Messiah is carried over into the New Testament with the title Christ. The Greek word Christos, from which we get the English word Christ, is the translation of the Hebrew term Mashiach (maw-shee'-akh), which is the source for the English word Messiah. Mashiach, in turn, is from the Hebrew verb mashach (maw-shakh'), which means “to anoint.” Therefore, when the New Testament speaks of Jesus Christ, it is saying “Jesus the Messiah,” which literally means, “Jesus the Anointed One.”

In Old Testament times, people were subject to anointing when they were called to the offices of prophet, priest, and king.

  • For example, when Saul became the first king of Israel, Samuel the prophet anointed his head with oil in a ceremonial fashion (1 Sam. 10:1).
    • This religious rite was performed to show that the king of Israel was chosen and endowed by God for the kingship.
  • Likewise, the priests and prophets were anointed at God’s command.
  • In a sense, anyone in the Old Testament who was set apart and consecrated for a servant task was a messiah, for he was one who received an anointing.

According to Exodus 30 the anointing oil was made up of the following fragrant items:

  1. Myrrh
  2. Cinnamon
  3. fragrant cane
  4. cassia
  5. olive oil
    1. vs 25 NAS "You shall make of these a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture, the work of a perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil.

  • In the New Testament we are anointed with the Holy Spirit

Acts 10:38 NAS You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit on someone’s life will carry a “fragrance” just like the anointing oil did.

Anointings are transferable

One of the primary duties of the priests was to anoint things.

Luke 4:18-19 NAS 18 "the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."

  • Each of us is to supply the rest of the body with what we are.

Ephesians 4:15-16 NKJV 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ —  16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working (Greek-energy) by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

  • When we transfer what we are we transfer the kingdom

Matthew 13:33 NAS He spoke another parable to them, "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened."

  • When you plant it into someone it grows

We carry the kingdom

We can transfer it

1 Timothy 4:14 NAS Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery.

Acts 8:17 NAS Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.

Luke 4:40 NAS While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them.

Some might ask, “I had something transferred and I don’t feel anything”

Some anointings are to teach us

1 John 2:27 NAS As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

Years ago God told me to tell a struggling pastor and his wife to pick out whatever clothing they wanted and buy it for them.

  • It opened up finances to them

Christian & Tiffany gave Julie and I tickets, motel & Melting Pot

The girl we gave the stuff to for Christmas has a very good new job

What anointing do you carry?

$$ Freely you received, freely give

The anointing can dissipate and it is our duty to keep them refreshed

2 Timothy 1:6 NAS For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Revelation 20:11-13 AMP 11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One Who was seated upon it, from Whose presence and from the sight of Whose face earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 I [also] saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged (sentenced) by what they had done (KJV works) [their whole way of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors] in accordance with what was recorded in the books. 13 And the sea delivered up the dead who were in it, death and Hades (the state of death or disembodied existence) surrendered the dead in them, and all were tried and their cases determined by what they had done (KJV works) [according to their motives, aims, and works].

Works (Strongs) sergon (er'-gon); from a primary, ergo (to work); toil (as an effort or occupation); by implication, an act: KJV - deed, doing, labour, work.

Matthew 5:16 KJV Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 11:2 KJV Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples

John 5:20 NAS For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.

John 14:12 NAS "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
