Description

NO FEAR YEAR:  2 Timothy 1:7 AMP For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

LOVE WINS: 1 John 4:18 AMP There is no fear in love (dread does not exist), but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror!  For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and (so) he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love (is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection).

~ What is Fear? ~

  • Fear is a strong emotional reaction to perceived imminent danger that is characterized by a fight, flight, or freeze response.
  • It can be real or imagined, rational or irrational, normal or abnormal.
  • Fear acts as a protective device placed in us by our Creator to activate all our physical systems when faced with real danger. Fear triggers the release of adrenaline in the body, which propels us to action—action often called “fight or flight.”
  • Fear is a natural emotion designed by God. However, fearfulness is not designed by God, for fearfulness implies living in a state of fear. The Greek word occasionally translated “fear” is deilia, which denotes cowardice and timidity and is never used in a positive light in the Bible.
  • Living with a fear-based mentality or with a spirit of fear is not from God.

  • What role does fear have in your life? Immobilizer or energizer ... foe or friend?

Fear has been the primary to keeping God’s people from doing what they’re called to.

  • Healthy and non-health fear.
  • Fear can become toxic when it becomes phobic.
    • Phobic is from Phobia
    • Phobia is described in the dictionary as:
      1. a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.
      2. exaggerated fear
        • synonyms for phobia: fear, irrational fear, obsessive fear, dread, horror, terror

Fear is bondage; the opposite of freedom.

a.  2 Corinthians 3:17 AMP Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

Time for women to come out of fear’s prison

~ Pros & Cons of Being a Woman ~

  1. STRENGTHS
    1. Sensitive to spiritual realm
    2. Processes information quickly
    3. Strong in detecting emotions but more vulnerable
  2. VULNERABILITIES
    1. Senses not submitted are not trained to be bridled and used right
    2. Processing information quickly can easily end up in judging others
    3. Unbridled emotions become harmful
      1. James 2 – the tongue is set on fire by hell.
      2. Dangerous to externally process when in fear.

~ Emotion Process ~

  • Thoughts trigger the emotions.
    • The emotion of fear in itself produces movement.

The spirit of fear comes from the enemy and can attach to our soul from sudden or dangerous circumstances if not processed and filed correctly in the brain.

A woman can be easily stimulated by a fearful thought because of how her brain works.

Men’s fear

  • Men do not experience less fear than women
  • Men are physiologically built to push past fear
  • Courage is not the absence of fear
  • Courage is doing what you are supposed to do in the face of fear

The emotion of fear to alert us or make us aware is a built-in emotion from God.

  1. We need to watch over our minds after a fearful emotion takes place to not let the instance linger any longer.
  2. Undealt with memories from fearful events will often cause us to open to a phobic fear driven by a spirit of fear.
  3. Dr. Caroline Leaf says that thoughts literally take up “mental real estate” in our brains.
  4. Once phobic fear enters into our minds it builds a fortified place where a fearful lie keeps us in bondage.

Last Days Purpose for Men and Women Both

Acts 2:16-18 - 16 but this is [the beginning of] what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall be in the last days,’ says God, ‘That I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see [divinely prompted] visions, and your old men shall dream [divinely prompted] dreams; 18 Even on My bond-servants.

  1. We are designed as speaking spirits just like God; made in His image.
  2. If we are to all prophesy, the danger comes from the ability to speak fear.
  3. Fear has a prophetic voice when we use it that way.
  4. Proverbs 18:21 NAS Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Fear is reactionary

  • Past fearful situations trigger fear
  • We overcome fear by knowledge
    • A fear of flying can be overcome by looking at airline crash stats
      • 1 in 11 million. Chance that you will be killed in an airplane crash.
      • 1 in 5,000. Odds that you will be killed in a car crash.
  • Should we be fearful of a forecasted tornado?
  • Should we be fearful of traveling overseas?

On top of all the stats we need to look at the spiritual where God watches over us.

We have memories of a failed life without God

  • These memories cause us to believe that the same bad will happen even now that we have a loving Heavenly Father

Men & women must unite by casting out fear.

  • We both have roles to play together in the harvest of souls.
  • By growing up in the love of the Father we see the full image of what God wants to reflect.
    • He IS the mixture of both men’s and women’s personalities.
