Restoration of ALL Things

John 10:10 NAS The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Acts 3:17-21 NAS 17 "And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also. 18 "But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, 21 whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.

What do you need restored?

  • What has been killed? Dreams, Hopes
  • What was stolen from you? Relationships,
  • What has been destroyed?
    • Destruction seems to be the biggest miracle and the hardest to believe for.

Destruction (Dictionary) the action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired

Restoration (Dictionary) the action of returning someone or something to a former owner, place, or condition.

Yes, some of these things were stolen because you sabotaged yourself

You gave up under pressure

You used your mouth wrong and hurt someone or yourself by destroying with fire through your words

BUT vs 17 says "And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also.

Blame, guilt, and accountability

John 9:1-3 NKJV 1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned (Message Bible - You're looking for someone to blame), but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

Today everyone is looking for blame.

  • All over the news when something goes wrong people are on a Witch Hunt to assess blame.

Even when there is guilt or malice the guilt of it is already paid for by God through the cross.

  • Jesus took our guilt.
  • Even guilt that was purposed.
    • Accountability still might play out in the person having to pay restitution or go through a time of rehabilitation.

We need to remember that the cross has forgiven everyone of every bit of guilt.

  • This means we have to forgive.
  • Some think that holding blame or guilt to someone is making them accountable.
    • Even when accountability for actions needs to happen, it needs to happen without guilt or shame or blame being assessed.

Religion wants to assess blame thinking somebody has violated the deity.

  • In Christianity the deity has paid for all blame and guilt.

We do want to assess the failure of the situation to find why it failed so we can fix it.

  • This would be done much easier if blame was taken out.

We need to watch even the tones of our voices to make sure that blame is not there.

Blame and accusation go hand-in-hand

God says that vengeance is his.

We cannot handle vengeance so we must give it to him.

Romans 12:19 NAS Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord

Self-blame needs to be something that we stop based on the fact that the Bible says we are free.

Now after we have stopped self-blame and believing that we must pay for every wrong that we've done we can start the road to Restoration.

Self-blame keeps us from receiving full restoration

  • Because we don’t feel worthy to have the good.
  • Now we become violent and demand full restoration.

We also believe God for full restoration and that his word says He will restore.

Why is it important for me to know about restoration?

Romans 5:8-9 NKJV 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 NAS For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ

Restoration Scriptures:

Joel 2:25a AMP And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten

Jeremiah 30:17a NAS For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the Lord
