Business basic: Make more revenue come in than you have in expenditures.

God’s system is to profit in all things

Look at nature:

  • One seed produces many
  • In the animal kingdom the strong males breed the largest amount of females

God invested in Son

Plant in good soil to produce an increase

Philippians 4:15-17 NAS 15 You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; 16 for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. 17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.

We need to evaluate where we’re investing to see if it’s producing profit

  • Mark 8:36 KJV For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

We need to evaluate the things in our lives to see if they produce a profit.

  • Our relationships
  • Our lives
  • Our work in the kingdom

Is our speaking producing a profit?

  • 1 Corinthians 14:6 NAS But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what will I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation or of knowledge or of prophecy or of teaching?
  • Matthew 12:36 AMP But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak.

1 Timothy 4:7-8 NAS 7 But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; 8 for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

Hebrews 4:1-3 NAS 1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.

What would you do for the success of your business?

  • Would you wear different clothes?
  • Would you allow things that you do now to pull you away from business?

We asked a young worker in sears if they had luggage and he said no.

  • He was talking about his section.
    • Would he be that passive if his livelihood depended on a sale?

Luke 16:10-13 ESV 10 "One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.  11 If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?  12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?  13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."

  • Luke 16:12 YLT and if in the other's ye became not faithful — your own, who shall give to you?
