Our Beliefs

Here at LFMC you will find that we don’t fit into the box of “religion” as some may see it. We believe our whole existence is established on connecting with the Father as sons and daughters in His Kingdom here on earth. That Kingdom is not just futuristic, but the atmosphere of heaven on earth is being established now as we recognize our true identity. You will also hear the term “apostolic” used frequently here. That describes the season and anointing that is in operation right now. The last days church will look and operate much like the church in the book of Acts where a great sense of unity and community were in place followed by signs, wonders, and miracles.

It is essential that each one of us learn to connect directly to the Father for ourselves. Then, in turn, we become the light, salt, leaven, etc… to the world around us. How do we do that? One day at a time, covered by grace, through the process of sanctification. Basically, understanding that our sin has been paid for, that’s a gift. But now, beginning as infants, we grow into maturity, step-by-step, responsible for our actions and how we handle the information we’ve been given at each stage of growth.

Let’s start here. This is foundational. We believe the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative word of God and is the standard by which any personal revelation, guidance, or direction perceived to be of God must be tested.

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in which we were created in His image spirit, soul, and body.

We believe that while Jesus is God as part of the trinity, He chose to come to earth as a man. He was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, as a man in relationship with Father and Holy Spirit, an example of how we are to live in that same relationship. For the glory set before Him, He chose to give His life on the cross, paying the ransom for all mankind. He was resurrected on the third day and took the keys of death, hell, and the grave before ascending to the right hand of the Father.

We believe in the finished work of the cross where the blood of Jesus not only cleanses us from sin, but provides healing and prosperity in every aspect of our lives. Salvation is found only through repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and will save us from eternal damnation to hell. Jesus’ death fulfilled the law of the old covenant and established the new covenant of grace.

We believe that water baptism after salvation is following Jesus’ example and that it signifies the death of our “old man” and all things becoming new.

We believe that we were created to hear God and connect with Him spirit to spirit. We believe that Holy Spirit is always with us as comforter and teacher and also desires to dwell within us, as was the example in Acts 2, if we ask Him. His indwelling will produce in us the evidence of speaking in tongues. As we “pray in the spirit” (speaking in tongues) we connect in a way that our enemy, Satan, the accuser, cannot hear what we are saying. We build up our faith and use our gift to pray in mysteries.

We believe that Holy Spirit gives gifts as the Word tells us 1 Corinthians 12, and that we should all desire a manifestation of those gifts. While gifts are freely given to those who ask, fruit is a manifestation of maturity in a believer’s life, as listed is Galatians 5:22-23.

We believe that the true “five-fold” ministry as listed in Ephesians 4 is still in operation today. The office of the apostle and prophet, although discounted for centuries, is being restored to work in conjunction with the evangelist, pastor, and teacher, to bring a complete work in these last days. The apostle and prophet work from the place of hearing from heaven and the evangelist, pastor, and teacher take that revelation and put it to work in the body.
