GOD’S KINGDOM

The kingdom is mentioned 45 times in Matthew
Mostly by Jesus as He taught about it.

Matthew 4:17 NAS  From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 10:7 NAS  And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'
Matthew 13:11 NAS  Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
Various scriptures say “The kingdom of heaven is like…”

Why is our knowledge of His kingdom and it’s ways so important?
Matthew 6:10 NKJV  Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

CARING FOR WHAT IS NOT YOURS

Luke 16:10-13 NAS  10 "He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.  11 "Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?  12 "And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?  13 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."

We don’t like someone running down what we take ownership of.

We easily point out all the negative of what we don’t own.

Here’s a list of what is a part of the kingdom:
You - Take care of your relationship to the Lord
God’s work
Your household

We misprioritize the things of God in our lives.

What you do will amplify to those that follow you

Who needs to watch over this church because they have the most to lose?
Do I do that out of self preservation?
Do I do that because this belongs to the kingdom and I care for what is my Father’s?

DECLARING OWNERSHIP

Lets look at how we take care of our own stuff - Show a pic of messy house from hoarders & a contrasting house that is uselessly perfect
In this there are two types of people:
1.  People that take care of their stuff
2.  People that don’t take care of their stuff
Everyone thinks that God takes care of His stuff like we do.
We think this so we can take care of His stuff like we do ours.

Coach Huey - There are 4 basic types of people in any organization
Adders= those who add themselves to the organization in a positive manner but do little to nothing to have a positive impact on others.
Subtractors= those who subtract themselves from the organization but do not spread a bad attitude.
Mutlipliers= those who add themselves to the organization and actively work to have a positive impact on others. Thus, spreading a postive team culture.
Dividers= those who subtract themselves from the organization and work to take others with them. Thus, dividing the organization.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Matthew 6:33 NAS  "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

If we’re going to put the Book first then God’s stuff goes first.

Haggai 1:2-11 NIV  2 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house.’”  3 Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai: 4 “Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?”  5 Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. 6 You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”  7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. 8 Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord. 9 “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. 10 Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops. 11 I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the olive oil and everything else the ground produces, on people and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.”
