God is at Work in You

Here is God’s predestined, present & future plan for Him working in our lives

Romans 8:28-32 NAS 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Philippians 2:13 NLT For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

God had assigned Nebuchadnezzar governmental cover over His people

  • Because of Nebuchadnezzar’s assignment God began to work in his life because:
  1. God cared for Nebuchadnezzar as a person
  2. God needed to eliminate prideful actions that would have put His people in danger
  3. God needed a favorable environment for His people to flourish, prosper and be restored

Daniel 2:1-7 NAS Now in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was troubled and his sleep left him. 2 Then the king gave orders to call in the magicians, the conjurers, the sorcerers and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king. 3 The king said to them, "I had a dream and my spirit is anxious to understand the dream." 4 Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in Aramaic: "O king, live forever! Tell the dream to your servants, and we will declare the interpretation."

God causes Nebuchadnezzar to begin questioning those things that he had his faith in.

5 The king replied to the Chaldeans, "The command from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you will be torn limb from limb and your houses will be made a rubbish heap. 6 "But if you declare the dream and its interpretation, you will receive from me gifts and a reward and great honor; therefore declare to me the dream and its interpretation."

God is also opening a door to elevate His people

Daniel 2:26-29 NAS 26 The king said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, "Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen and its interpretation?" 27 Daniel answered before the king and said, "As for the mystery about which the king has inquired, neither wise men, conjurers, magicians nor diviners are able to declare it to the king. 28 "However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the latter days. This was your dream and the visions in your mind while on your bed.

Daniel tells the dream and Nebuchadnezzar in introduced to the God of heaven

Daniel 2:46-49 NAS 46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face and did homage to Daniel, and gave orders to present to him an offering and fragrant incense. 47 The king answered Daniel and said, "Surely your God is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, since you have been able to reveal this mystery." 48 Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts, and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.

Nebuchadnezzar then sets up a 90’ high idol and demands that when the music plays everyone must fall down and worship.

  • If anyone does not fall and worship they’ll be thrown into the fiery furnace.
  • Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego do not and God protect them as they’re thrown into the furnace

Nebuchadnezzar is now in the stage where he fears God and is trying to serve him from his natural mind but still has blinding pride.

Daniel 3:28-30 NAS 28 Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, violating the king's command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 "Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation or tongue that speaks anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego shall be torn limb from limb and their houses reduced to a rubbish heap, inasmuch as there is no other god who is able to deliver in this way." 30 Then the king caused Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego to prosper in the province of Babylon.

God sets to humble Nebuchadnezzar to remove the blinding pride.

Daniel 4:4-6 NAS 4 "I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and flourishing in my palace. 5 "I saw a dream and it made me fearful; and these fantasies as I lay on my bed and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.

Daniel 4:24-25, 28-33 NAS 24 this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: 25 that you be driven away from mankind and your dwelling place be with the beasts of the field, and you be given grass to eat like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.

28 "All this happened to Nebuchadnezzar the king. 29 "Twelve months later he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon. 30 "The king reflected and said, 'Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?' 31 "While the word was in the king's mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying, 'King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you, 32 and you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.' 33 "Immediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair had grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws.

Nebuchadnezzar finally has a personal, heart relationship with the God of heaven.

Daniel 4:34-37 NAS 34 "But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 "All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth; and no one can ward off His hand or say to Him, 'What have You done?'

36 "At that time my reason returned to me. And my majesty and splendor were restored to me for the glory of my kingdom, and my counselors and my nobles began seeking me out; so I was reestablished in my sovereignty, and surpassing greatness was added to me. 37 "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride."

We have hidden things that God need out of us to forward our call

  • He can’t show us them because it would violate our free will
    • So He begins the arrangement of circumstances to eliminate the root of that thing we cannot see

God causes us to confront unresolved weak areas created by past sinful actions

  • We usually get condemned because of our hearts condemn us.
    • God is not the one condemning

As we face past sins our reborn spirit inside knows it's wrong where once we didn't think twice about doing bad.

  • You feel tempted to go back or do stuff you used to do.
    • As you resist you build up strength you, through the power of the cross, shake off chains that have weakened you.

We need to be careful not to judge and ostracize those going through confrontation with their old self.

Galatians 6:1 AMP Brethren, if any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.

Grace covering removed as we grow.

If God will work in the heart of a heathen prideful king will He not work in your life?

He’s doing it right now.
