Developing a Value to be Trained

In this series we’ve:

  1. Redefined God’s end time purpose
  2. Defined one of His purposes is to inherit and administrate God’s kingdom
  3. Understand that we need to be trained to do so
  4. Know that the training will partly be through the knowledge of the kingdom and how it works

All of what God did and says needs to be viewed in respect to the “age” of the people He’s dealing with.

The aging process can be viewed over certain periods of time and all of the time of mankind

For example, man started out in infancy in the Garden of Eden and has developed to a mature level today.

So God speaks to and deals with people at the age that they’re capable of being

Hebrews 5:11-14 NAS 11 Concerning him (Melchizedek) we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 NAS 1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, 3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

Right now God has His people at an upper teenage level.

At this level, corporal punishment is out.

The teenager is a lit????

We are being trained to rule our Father’s kingdom

Galatians 4:1-7 GOD'S WORD 1 Let me explain further. As long as an heir is a child, he is no better off than a slave, even though he owns everything. 2 He is placed under the control of guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. 3 It was the same way with us. When we were children, we were slaves to the principles of this world. 4 But when the right time came, God sent his Son into the world. A woman gave birth to him, and he came under the control of God's laws. 5 God sent him to pay for the freedom of those who were controlled by these laws so that we would be adopted as his children. 6 Because you are God's children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into us to call out, "Abba! Father!" 7 So you are no longer slaves but God's children. Since you are God's children, God has also made you heirs.

Is it important who we’re trained by

The Jewish method of training was by apprenticeship

Sir Ken Robinson – How Schools Kill Creativity

Our education system is predicated on the idea of academic ability. And there’s a reason. Around the world, there were no public systems of education, really, before the 19th century. They all came into being to meet the needs of industrialism.

It is so important for us to be trained today

The ability to be humble and receive instruction is huge

Why don’t we want instruction?

  • We believe that failing makes us a failure and nobody wants to accept being a failure

Tie everything to heaven or hell

If a situation is uncomfortable is that always bad

Are we to have a respect for a cop or judge

If someone is thinking of robbing your house do you want them uncomfortable with that idea based on them getting caught and imprisoned?

If we are violating the law is being uncomfortable bad?

Separate the chastisement of the Lord from being imprisoned

Realize your age in God and know that He will deal with you accordingly.

Get the scriptures that define age and evaluate yourself

There was an age when my boys did not get spanked

They had to learn from the result of their action

They are not afraid of daddy spanking them

But they have learned to have a fear or respect of their actions handing them painful repercussions

This is the fear of the Lord

When you read the Bible, define the ”age” of the mankind that God is detailing with

How does God train us?

Ephesians 4:11-16 NAS 11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

Our Father teaches us the actions of the mature so we will learn to incorporate them thus maturing us.

2 Timothy 2:22-23 AMP 22 Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness (all that is virtuous and good, right living, conformity to the will of God in thought, word, and deed); [and aim at and pursue] faith, love, [and] peace (harmony and concord with others) in fellowship with all [Christians], who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But refuse (shut your mind against, have nothing to do with) trifling (ill-informed, unedifying, stupid) controversies over ignorant questionings, for you know that they foster strife and breed quarrels.

1 Timothy 3:6 AMP He must not be a new convert, or he may [develop a beclouded and stupid state of mind] as the result of pride [be blinded by conceit, and] fall into the condemnation that the devil [once] did.
