Description

The antichrist is the false version of the real

The spirit of antichrist is in the world

It is producing the need to become false

We become false when we try to become something that we’re not.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NAS 7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me — to keep me from exalting myself! 8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

We all have weaknesses

  • Types of weaknesses
    • Genetic - natural – genealogy
    • Biological - gender specific
    • Age - $$ young men luster pride
    • Habitual
    • Lack of knowledge

Our need for attention and approval has caused us to try to become the very thing we believe will attract the attention and approval we crave.

There are two primary forces I see attacking young people:

  1. The Barbie doll/Athlete syndrome
    1. This produces insecurities and inferiority
    2. Those affected by this become very self-conscience of how they look/dress/act
    3. Those believing to be ugly are wounded because of it
    4. Those who are pretty usually become addicted to the approval of people
  2. The bully spirit
    1. This produces wounding, offense and bitterness
    2. The bully and his victim are trapped by words like, “You’re ugly”, “You’re wrong”, “You’re not very fast/strong”,

No matter what side you’re on, whether using these forces or being the victim of them you’re being trapped by them.

The victims are being wounded and filled with insecurity and inferiority

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he”, the perpetrators have trapped themselves by the very thoughts and words they’ve used on others

Strengthen your weak areas

If you’re ashamed or afraid of discovery of your weak areas, you’ll try to hide them thus never letting them be strengthened.

If we recognize and become accountable of our weaknesses is how we get strong

Be faithful to YOUR calling

Ephesians 4:1 NAS Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called

Ephesians 4:4 NAS There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling

We are all created different.

Your difference is probably your strength.

You being different does not mean you need to make yourself an oddity.

People make themselves into an oddity because they’re using a popular standard of measure to compare themselves to and they have no chance of meeting that standard.

Examples of standards are being pretty, athletic, popular

They then try to difference themselves drastically to the point of making themselves an oddity.

You don’t need to use any standard for yourself except yourself

Don’t use your high (strong) places to shoot others from

You have low (weak) places that are other’s high places where they can shoot at YOU from
